Note : I have used organic Agave nectar which is a natural sweetener with a low glycemic index(does not spike up blood sugars like cane sugar does) instead of sugar.you can use regular sugar or sweeteners of your choice. |
2 cups assorted fruits chopped ( bananas,strawberries,peaches,grapes plums,sugar melon etc )
For the custard :
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup mango puree sweetened
2 tbsp corn starch
2 tbsp butter
4 tbsp sugar or Agave nectar
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
Directions :
In a non-stick saucepan melt the butter on a low flame .Add the corn starch and make a roux
whisking constantly to prevent lumps .Cook it till there's no raw flour smell around 3-4 mins .Add the milk and whisk till it mixes well with the roux and thickens .Add the mango puree, vanilla essence and sugar or Agave nectar .Cool it and chill for an hour atleast .Serve it with the fruits

ReplyDeleteAt home we call this Fruit Salad- just that! And this is an ALL time FAV. just that we take a shortcut, using custard powder so readily available :)
ReplyDeleteI particularly love this in summer ( though anytime of the year, this dessert is welcome)with mango chunks, chilled to perfection!
